Yeah, Harold is just a silly name invented by Del Close and some of his students way back when. There's a vague allusion to the odd comedic cult film about him and Maude. Some of the big improv schools base their whole curriculum around it. Other schools completely eschew it. Call it archaic. My dear fellow improvisers of eastern Iowa, would you like to decide for yourself?
Let's get back to the beginning of improv forms—not the first necessarily, but arguably the most influential. For eight weeks, we will explore many aspects of the Harold, including: History, Slow Comedy, How to Work the Beats, Story vs. Game, Openings and Group Games, and Managing Harold Teams.

Oct 9 - Dec 4 6:30pm-8:30pm You'll learn the rules of improv along with fundamental principles. You'll walk away with skills to build strong characters and create interesting scenes without a script. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to embrace the unexpected and let your imagination come through. (Age 18+)
